Nine out of ten winter tires that leave this shop are Bridgestone Blizzaks, in one model or another. Most of us here run them on our own vehicles too. There is a Blizzak built for most vehicles — cars, SUVs, light trucks — and after forty years of fitting winter tires in Bruce County we know how they behave on these roads.
We also fit Michelin, Continental, Toyo, Cooper, Firestone, General and Blackhawk. If you have a brand you trust already, or a budget you want to land inside, say so and we will find the right tire in it. Tell us the vehicle and roughly how much winter driving you do, and you will get a recommendation rather than a sales pitch.
Bruce County takes its winter off the lake, and the first real freeze usually turns up before anyone is ready for it. Booking early means you choose your size and brand instead of taking what is left on the rack, and you are not waiting in line during the third week of November when every shop in the county is backed up.
Winter tires are not just about snow. Below about 7°C the rubber in an all-season tire stiffens and stops gripping properly, which shows up as longer stopping distances on cold, dry pavement long before the first snowfall.
Most Ontario insurers also offer a discount — often up to around 5% — for running winter tires through the season. Ask your broker what they need, and hang on to the invoice we give you.
Putting your winter tires on their own set of wheels costs a little more up front and less every year after that.

Your off-season set stays here, indoors and out of your garage, and when the weather turns you book a swap and drive in with an empty trunk. It also means the same people who fitted your tires are the ones checking their condition twice a year.
